Bjorn is a 1-year 5-month male crossbreed who presented to us as he had shown a decreased athletic ability and an unwillingness to jump/play. On presentation there was evidence of a shuffling gait and poor hindlimb musculature.

Radiography showed of Bjorn’s hips showed a bi-lateral subluxation of both of his hips with the left hip being worse than the right. We recommended a total hip replacement to both his left and his right hip

Bjorn owner’s decided to go ahead with surgery and he underwent a total hip replacement (THR) of his left hip and returned for a total hip replacement (THR) of his right hip a couple of months later. Bjorn received expert anaesthetic care from our anaesthetist Chris Seymour throughout his operation and recovered from the procedure without any significant complications and he was discharged a couple of days later.
